ON THE AIRWAVES

Last week was a good week for The Echo Heights.
The band landed airplay on Kents KMFM radio station and BBC radio Kent.
Big thanks to these stations for playing The Echo Heights.
Another big thanks to all who came to the show at The Betsey Trottwood this week.
It was a blinding show and the packed out little venue lived up to its reputation as being a fun place to play.

INTRODUCING.. OUR NEW BASS PLAYER

After the summer tour of the USA bass player Andy "Midge" Martin decided to call it a day.
Midge was instrumental in the early days of The Echo Heights and cannot be thanked enough for his skill, humour and general
contribution to the band. His bass playing skills can be heard on 4 of the tracks that made the cut and ended up on
the debut album, Clap hands, You should feel the same, Hung out to dry and Paint your house.
We hope to see you at one of our future shows Midge...

As one door closes another opens and we would like to introduce our new bass player Steve Angel.
Steve has been a friend of drummer Westy for as long as he can remember and is a fantastic musician.
The band are very pleased to have Angel on board, rehearsals have been going well and Mr Angel will be making
his live debut at the intimate Slaters Bar show on Nov 11th, hope to see you there...

IN THE CAN

Mastering, like recording went extremely well and its all over. The album is complete and the band are now off to finalize details of how it will be released...

In other news, rehearsals have been going well and the band will shortly be announcing some new live dates. These dates will be mostly in and around London, with a warm up show on the south coast planned as well. Watch this space...

STUDIO SESSIONS FINISHED

After what seems like a day (it really has flown) the band have emerged from the studio proud parents of their new baby. Oh, and what a beautiful baby it is too. Mixing has been pretty stress free and mastering is scheduled for next week.

STUDIO SESSIONS GOING WELL

The band are, to put it mildly, very excited! The sessions are going very well. Drum, guitar, organ and bass is down.
Vocals are being added next, as well as a few more finishing touches, sprinkles of Wurlitzer, Rhodes Piano's and such like. Its all sounding great and the band cant wait to finish the job..

BACK IN THE STUDIO

So, the tour is over, the band are home and the dust has settled. So what next for The Echo Heights?
Well, there is the small matter of finishing off the debut album. Roughly half the album is in the can, but very soon The Echo Heights will be back in the studio to get the job finished.
Check this site for studio updates and accounts of how things are progressing...

USA TOUR

Well, what can we say?! What a tour!!
Zooming around the Interstates like demented energizer bunnies, trying to work through all of the food chains. The band sampled Roy Rogers, IHOP, Crackerbarrel, McD's of course, Dunkin Donuts and the ever wonderful Starbucks.

Oh, and the band played some shows. Boston was freezing but The Echo Heights warmed up in the company of Ad Frank and The Glass Set, with Westy making a guest appearance for one Ad Frank number! On to Ralph's Diner in Worcester where an exclusive crowd were treated to a blast of English pop while the band figured out how to dodge the electric shocks they were getting from the mikes! Friday saw The Echo Heights in New York at Piano's where the place was packed out with "young ladies" in awe of up and coming heartthrob, Ben Jelen (nice bloke). After a day to recover The Echo Heights headed for Wshington DC and warmer weather to play at the DC9 with their friends, the Treading Lemmings.

In Nashville, and finally the T shirts were out. Much video footage was shot and will be upload to YouTube or even MySpace ASAP so that you can all share in the experience.

Then it was Nashville where The Echo Heights played another blinder in the charming and excellent surroundings of The Basement club.
Then it was Austin (via Denny's). Another blinding set was played live on Koop FM. The Echo Heights blasted their way through a 35 minute set live to the masses.

Also in Austin the band spent some time in the studio recording "Soul" and "Protest Song". The album is slowly taking shape and will surely feature these 2 recordings.

So now the band are back in the UK and have an album to finish and some more gig announcements just round the corner.
Exciting times, stay tuned.......

WEBSITE GOES LIVE

Well here we are!!

It's been a difficult birth. The baby was clearly breech for a large part of the pregnancy but thank god it turned and out popped the Echo Heights, now kicking and screaming for England.

When we say screaming we actualy mean we are slightly shocked by the pleasant sounds we appear to be making...

No doubt we'll be making more of those sounds and expanding on several interesting (to us) theories, such as Bakers Tourettes, those construction workers on the Death Star, why it's impossible to hold on to a 2-0 lead if you scored both those goals in the first fifteen minutes, publishing the complex rules to "Fashion Cricket" and considering just how fast the speed of dark might be.

We may look like idiots but by golly we know a thing or two about pub conversation topics! http://www.nme.com/newmusic/the-echo-heights
