This is dummy text. A contrite Bradley Orr was in tears after watching
10-man Bristol City secure their second League One victory of the
season, against Northampton Town at Sixfields last night. The City
defender, 22, was sent off just before half-time after he was involved
in an astonishing skirmish with his team-mate, Louis
Carey. The two squared up to each other inside the six-yard box after Adriano
Basso had denied Andy Kirk a second goal of the game, each player
blaming the other for allowing the Northern Ireland forward time
and space. Orr layed the faintest of butts on his team-mate but Carey
reacted by pushing him away and the fracas, strictly ballroom and
handbags,
was deemed sufficient for referee Michael Jones to show Orr a red
card

"I don't know what came over me but it cannot be condoned," Orr
said. "I take 100 per cent blame but it is a moment I would rather
forget. Anything the manager hands me I'll take on the chin." The
scores were level when Orr was dismissed after a Phil Jevons penalty,
following a foul on Dave Cotterill by Chris Doig, and Andy Kirk's
17th-minute opener.City earned the three points as Steve Brooker
finished from
16 yards in the 71st minute. Cotterill confirmed the win when he
converted City's second penalty in the 90th minute, after Jennison
Willams was
fouled by Sean Dyche. |
